We offer Private Classes as well as group tour activities in our studio.

Private Classes
Our pottery studio is beginner friendly and will spend time with each student helping you get your hands around the clay, so to speak.  We offer instruction from complete beginner to advanced, with all of our classes tailored to the needs of the specific students with a maximum of 2 students per class so you will be assured of much one-on-one instruction.    Classes are scheduled Monday – Saturday during the day or evening.   Most of our private classes incoude at least 4 sessions that include 12 hours of combined instruction and practice.  Examples of classes include:
Pottery Making Basics:  In this 12+ hour class you will learn to prepare clay for the wheel, center the clay on the wheel, and then manipulate the clay to create small basic cylinders and bowls.  Your creations will be bisque fired, then glazed by you, then high-fired in the glaze firing.  Cost: $175.

More Pottery Making: This customized 12+ hour class will be designed based on your level of expertise and may include:  creating more shapes and sizes, creating handles using a variety of techniques, and how to combine wheel and slab techniques.  Cost:  $175.

Kiln Loading and Firing:  This is a 2+ hour class that is for someone who want to know all the basics of loading and firing a kiln.  It will cover types of kilns, kiln furniture, loading for a bisque firing, loading for a glaze firing, pyrometer use, oxy-probe use, and a variety of problems you might encounter and how to resolve them.  Cost: $45.00

Creating Glazes:  This is a 6+ hour class for someone who wants to know all the basics of creating and testing your own glazes.  It will cover clays and clay bodies, core materials, melting materials, oxides, and relation of firing temperature and atmosphere to various ingredients. We will also discuss a variety of problems you might encounter and how to resolve them.  Cost: $100.00

Educational Tours & Group Activities
We will be glad to give you either as an individual or a group an educational tour of our studio.  You will see the entire production process and have plenty of time for questions and answers.   All tours and classes can be customized for your group and can even be expanded for some "hands on" project work for your group.   Contact us for information and prices.
